Graham Hunt - Architect
I am a registered architect with more than 25 years experience in a wide range of retail, industrial, commercial, and residential projects.
MY architectural approach has two underlying tenets:
- To assist people to obtain and improve sustainability in their homes and work places in the most practical and cost-efficient way
- To design spaces that are a pleasure to be in and that relate harmoniously with the natural environment
BACKGROUND MILESTONES
- First 7 years of my life spent on a farm close to bushland developing a strong bond with the natural environment
- Studied art at high school which sparked my interest in architecture and design
- Studied architecture at Sydney University from 1972-76 with a strong environmental focus
- Built several innovative concrete houses in the Hunter Valley from 1981-82 using passive solar design.
- Managed an architectural R & D unit focused on environmentally sustainable design in Botswana from 1993 – 1997
- Accredited to do thermal comfort assessments in 1999
- From 2003 – 2006 worked Caroline Pidcock Architects - a Sydney firm well-known for its green credentials
- 2006 – started my own practice full time.
